Lamps of the Muristan
Jerusalem Light Festival 2016
Designed and created by – Eli Kaplan-Wildmann and Talya Tomer
Huge Victorian lampshades, delicately decorated by hand, light up the craftsmen and vendors of the market. Originally created as protection from the harmful effects of a new invention – the electric light bulb – today such lampshades hearken back to a time when the human touch prevailed – as it still does in the market around this square.
